In an effort to highlight the importance of advance care planning, Hawaii Pacific Health will host a series of workshops to provide information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers. Advance care planning is a process that allows individuals to state their preferences about medical treatment and to name someone they trust to make health care decisions from them if they ever become unable to speak for themselves.
The workshop will be offered at Straub Medical Center and Pali Momi Medical Center. Refreshments will be provided. A notary will also be available to those who want to complete their Advance Health Care Directive after class.
